Notification

Foreign residents must get the birth and the death registered while you are in Japan.

Birth Notification

A mother or a father should complete the designated birth notification procedures within 14 days of birth. A Birth Certificate signed by a doctor is required to register your child's birth.

Death Notification

A family member should complete the designated death notification procedures within 7days of death. Be sure to have the doctor's signature or his/her seal on the Death Certificate.
