The delegates of the Longview Sister City Commission have officially visited Wako!

The delegates of the Longview sister city commission have officially visited Wako city to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the signing of our sister city relationship.

The delegation members are as follows:

This official visit enhanced our relations, and we have deepened our friendship.

    Luncheon at "Café la belle"

    Familiarization tour of Wako City Hall
    Courtesy call on Mayor of Wako City
    Tour of Wako City
      ・Wako International High School
      ・Riken  Wako Institute
      ・Ikkanji (Temple)
    17:30 p.m.-
    Reception (Welcome party) at Wako cultural public Hall "Sun azalea"
  • March 30 (Tue.)
    The delegates enjoyed sightseeing with their host family.
  • March 31 (Wed.)
    One-day trip to Kawagoe
    ・Kitain (Temple)
    ・Lunch at "Kou-sushi" (Sushi restaurant)
    ・"Kurazukuri" (fireproof storehouses)
    ・Tokino kane  (The bell tower)
    ・Kashiya-yokocho(The candy stores alley)
    Paying a farewell call on Mayor of Wako City

*Almost all the delegates stayed at host family’s home in Wako.

Ms. Lancaster gave her painting to to Wako Public Library.

Mayor Matsumoto presented "Hagoita" to Chairman Pedersen.

The delegates, Mayor Matsumoto, Superintendent of the Board of Education Okubo, Executive Director of Planning Department Otera and Managing Director of Human Rights and Cultural Affairs Division Kono.

 

Mayor Matsumoto delivered the opening address at the Welcome Reception.

The delegates joined "Shirako-bayashi". 

The bread made at the vocational aid center for intellectually challenged people in Wako was presented to the delegates.
